Whyalla Recreation Centre Nominated for National Award
Fitness Australia, the national peak industry association, has announced the Whyalla Recreation Centre is a Quality Accredited Fitness Business of the Year Finalist in the 2020 Australian Fitness Awards.
CEO of Fitness Australia, Barrie Elvish, explains that the Australian Fitness Awards provide a great opportunity for businesses and individuals to be acknowledged for their contribution to the industry and the impact they have in their communities.
“Every finalist has shown incredible commitment to supporting those in their communities to live an active lifestyle, whether it is through professional development to ensure they are providing clients with safe and quality services, or creating community programs which break down barriers to participation and encourage involvement across a diverse range of different groups,” he said.
The Quality Accredited Business of the Year is the highest award available for fitness businesses. It is awarded to the Centre which receives the highest accreditation score as assessed by Improvement Foundation and endorsed by the Fitness Industry Standards Council and Fitness Australia Board.
Whyalla Recreation Centre Manager, Kimberley Nitschke, said that being nominated as a finalist for Business of the Year was an honour.
“We have worked really hard to improve and grow all aspects of the Centre over recent years. This nomination recognises the YMCA and our local staff team’s dedication to excellence and high standards while maintaining a genuine community feel,” she said.
